Police in East Hampton, N.Y., arrested the wife of longtime Goldman Sachs hedge fund guru Ray Iwanowski for drunk driving, according to The New York Post.
Jane Iwanowski, 48, crashed her BMW into a tree in July. A police report stated an intoxicated Iwanowski “was unable to walk or stand,” when questioned while at a hospital.
Police arrested her and charged her with a DWI, the New York tabloid said.
At Goldman Sachs, Ray Iwanowski, 42, co-ran a $12 billion hedge fund once considered the Cadillac of the asset class.
But the global credit crisis wrecked havoc on the fund, which used a macro strategy. The fund whittled down to $2.5 billion, and in March Iwanowski and co-portfolio manager Mark Carhart resigned.
In September 2008, The New York Observer reported Iwanowski bought a nine-room apartment in New York worth $13.5 million.
